Walter Weber resigns from Management Board
Thomas Ghabel takes over Accounting, Financial Statements and Taxes
Kirkel – 2 April 2007. Walter Weber (55) at his own request resigned from his position on the Management Board of Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG nearly six months ahead of the expiry of his contract. Weber had asked the Supervisory Board to release him from his obligations as a Management Board member from 31 March 2007 so he can take up a new position in another company. The Supervisory Board complied with his request.
The responsibility for Accounting, Financial Statements and Taxes was conferred to Thomas Ghabel (40), who in addition also remains in charge of the areas Controlling, Finance, Legal Affairs, Investor Relations / Public Relations and IT / Organization.
Dr. Kersten von Schenck, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, thanked Weber for his long years of successful service and the commitment he has shown for the company in recent years. “This applies in particular for his contributions to Praktiker’s IPO in November 2005 but also to the integration of Max Bahr into the Praktiker Group and to the preparations for the first-time consolidation of the group’s new subsidiary, which had been a special focus of his activities during the past few months”, stressed von Schenck.
Since 1 April, the Management Board of Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG comprises the following four members: Wolfgang Werner (Chairman), Michael Arnold (Internationalization, Personnel), Thomas Ghabel (Finance) and Pascal Warnking (Category Management, Marketing).
