Kirkel – March 19, 2008. The new Management Board Member Human Resources and Labor Director of Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG, Karl-Heinz Stroh, will assume his duties with effect on March 21, 2008. Stroh, who had previously served on the Management Board of DB Netz AG in Frankfurt/Main, had been appointed by the Supervisory Board in its meeting on December 13, 2007.

Stroh aged 53 and born in the Rhineland-Palatinate, will take over the corporate departments Human Resources and the function of Labor Director from Michael Arnold, who will in future exclusively focus on the international business and internationalization of the Praktiker Group. The distribution of the other responsibilities among the members of the Management Board will remain unaffected by this change.
