On 22 November 2005, Praktiker was taken public. The emission price was 14.50 euros. At the time of flotation in November 2005, METRO AG had sold 59.5 percent of the. On 13 April 2006, METRO AG sold its remaining shareholding. Since then the free float of Praktiker AG is 100 percent.
Sporadically, financial investors exceed the reporting threshold of 3 respectively 5 percent of the voting rights. None of them has yet expressed any strategic intentions though. The majority of the shares are held by institutional investors, of whom the majority are institutions based in Anglo-Saxon countries.
February 2011 saw Praktiker AG successfully placed a corporate bond with a total volume of 250 million euros. The corporate bond is listed at the Luxembourg stock exchange.
